Temporary email and anonymity: the difference
Understand the privacy benefits and limits of temporary email without promises of complete anonymity.
TempMails reduces the need to share your personal email address. That is a useful privacy feature, but it is not a guarantee of anonymity. Your network provider, the sending website, and infrastructure providers may still process connection information.
What we minimize
The application uses hashed network identifiers for abuse limits, does not put inbox addresses in analytics, and does not use message contents for advertising. Access credentials stay out of links and browser history.
What can still identify you
A message can contain your name or account details. Opening a sender’s external link can reveal information to that destination. Remote images are blocked by default because loading them may disclose your IP address to the image host.
Make privacy a habit
Do not paste sensitive data into an inbox you intend to discard. Keep recovery tokens private and avoid loading remote images unless you trust the sender.
Common questions
Is TempMails completely anonymous?
No. It helps separate your real address from a short-term interaction, but network and infrastructure metadata may still exist.
Are tracking pixels loaded automatically?
No. Remote email images are blocked until you choose to load them.
